Sleeping disorders

We spend approximately one third of our life sleeping. Sleeping is part of the vital functions of our body just like breathing, digesting, or building up our immune system. Usually, sleeping disorders can be classified into 4 types:

initial insomnia (when trying to fall asleep)

frequent awakenings throughout the night

awakenings in the middle of the night (usually around 2 or 3am), with the inability to go back to sleep.

Final insomnia (early awakenings)

How can sophrology help you improve the quality of your sleep?

Through various relaxation and deep breathing techniques, sophrology helps you to release your tensions which often prevent you from falling asleep. This return to a state of calm, this physical and mental relaxation stimulates good quality sleep. Sophrology also helps restore a positive imagination of what is to sleep and build confidence in one’s ability to sleep well.

As a sophrologist, how am I going to intervene?

First, I will discuss with you about how you sleep, how your daily routine goes, as well as what your sensory environment, your schedule and your habits are… During our first meeting, I will establish a program of several sessions focused on 3 main components: conscious breathing (low and deep breathing which is conducive to good sleep), relaxation techniques (learning how to disconnect from your everyday life and let go of your tensions facilitates the transition from being awake to falling asleep), and your personal positive visualizations (that will induce harmony and calm).

I can also advise to change your “bedtime ritual” in order to better prepare your nights.
